BARABASI
about.
I’m Aura Barabasi, a fashion product developer with a foundation in design and a deep understanding of what it takes to bring garments to life beautifully, precisely, and on time.
My journey in fashion didn’t start on a runway — it started on a factory floor.
Before university, I worked in a knitwear factory where I saw firsthand what most people never do: the hidden systems, the pressure of production, the precision it takes to bring a garment to life. That early experience shaped everything. So when I began my MA in Fashion Design at kingston University, I was surprised — and honestly, a little shocked — to find that most people didn’t even know product development existed as a job.
Years later, even at Burberry, I discovered that many professionals still assumed fashion began and ended with design. But I knew better. I’d already seen the work behind the work — and that’s where I’ve built my career.
I’ve developed over 500 garments across Italy, Germany, and the UK, from performancewear at Adidas by Stella McCartney to high-stakes runway pieces at Burberry. I’ve worked on collections for the SU25, delivered on impossible timelines, and supported teams through the pressure of launches like the W25 fashion show.
Today, I specialize in product development for womenswear and menswear, with a focus on tailoring — where structure, silhouette, and timing have to align with absolute precision. I bring a calm, clear, and strategic approach to the chaos of fashion development, bridging the gap between creative vision and commercial execution.
What makes me different?
I explain what no one teaches — how fashion actually gets made.
This platform is built for the people doing the real work — junior developers, founders, emerging creatives — who want to make great product without losing time, money, or confidence. Because fashion isn’t just about designing.
It’s about making it work.
